Excelloy 44

Extremely low temperature alloy for joining aluminum to all other metals.

Excelloy 44 has a low melting and thin flowing characteristics. It is easy to use for seals and cracks, and works well on zinc die-casting. Excelloy 44 provides good color match.

Applications

Excelloy 44 was developed for easy joining of aluminum sheets, tubing, and casting. Excelloy 44 is a low temperature solder and will join aluminum to copper, brass, stainless steel, etc. Because of the low melting temperature there is no danger of melting the aluminum base metal. This makes it ideal for use on white metal or zinc die-casting.

Procedure

Clean joint thoroughly. Apply Excelloy 44 flux (no flux necessary on clean aluminum to aluminum). If heating with an open flame, apply heat indirectly, avoid contact with flux. Apply alloy when flux boils. Avoid over-heating and charring the flux. Remove flux with hot water.
