Excelloy 41 AC/DC +

For all weldable grades of aluminum - easy to use, low spatter extruded aluminum electrode

The Excelloy 41 DC+ was designed for arc welding and torch brazing of aluminum and aluminum alloys. Its extruded flux coating produces an exceptionally stable, smooth, low spatter arc. Weld deposits are dense and porosity free.

Applications

For fabrication and repair of truck frames, highway signs, tanks, engine blocks, guardrails, heat exchangers, and injection molds. Replaces mig and tig in situations where wind interferes with shielding gas, or where repairs must be field welded. Torch brazing is ideal for build up of missing or worn sections.

Procedure

Remove all contaminants from weld zone, bevel sections greater than ¼”, preheat thick sections to 400F, maintain arc length as short as possible and hold electrode perpendicular to work. Travel speed and burn off is 2 to 3 times that of steel electrodes. Allow weld to cool slowly and completely remove slag between passes.
